FAUNA: If we mentioned all the fauna that lives in our environs, it would be a too extensive page; for that reason we have preferred to mention most common or interesting. In the photos, we can see marten belongs to the Mustélidos family, of the order Carnivorous. It lives in the environs of our towns in any hoisted zone. You have luck if you manage to see some. Another photo shows us the wild boar. Scientific classification: the wild boars belong to the family of the Suidos. Perhaps one of our mounts (Serra do Suido) is called thus in honor of this animal, whose population has increased considerably in the last years, being necessary to organize controlled huntings to regulate its population and to avoid that it damages the harvests. Other inhabitants who were very abundant decades ago, are the hares and the rabbits. To day of today the population of rabbits is recovering, nevertheless the recovery is slow. In addition it is the prey of practically all the mean-great carnivores and some birds that exist. It is easy to see them in the environs, even near some houses. But difficult to see it is the hare, since this one lives remoter on the towns, in open mount. Another inhabitant of our mounts is the wolf, in very rare occasions have occurred cases of attacking people; not cattle happens the same with, which it undergoes the consequences of which the wolf does not have sufficient prey in our mounts to feed itself, with which it is very common that it attacks cows and yearling calves. Usually they inhabit in a Serra do Suido , The same happens with the foxes, at night it is easy to see them near the towns and if they have the occasion is strained in some unprotected hen house. They inhabit in the woods located between Carballeira and Serra do Suido, and located between Borralleiro and the river do Foxo. Several rivers exist that together end and form the Verdugo river. We have the river gives Ponte , river it give Roots , river do Foxo , river gives Barcia ; and in almost all of them we have trouts. Otos animals that live in the environs is badger, sprocket wheels, and some eagles.
FLORA: Also of a summarized form, we commonest mentioned or the abundant thing of our mounts. The trees most common in mounts are the pines, are them in the Suido and also in smaller amount near the Borralleiro, nevertheless exist small forests formed by oaks (carballos in Gallego), birch (vidos), and some brown, that form very complete ecosystems, as much of animals as of plants; in addition it is I authenticate to please to take a walk through them and to contemplate to La Paz and tranquillity that in them is breathed. They are between Borralleiro and Rai'ces, Borralleiro and river do Foxo , Borralleiro and Cernedo, and also between a Carballeira and mounts do Suido . The scrub that more covers our mount is the gorse (toxo), with its typical yellow flower, that usually leaves in February, also proliferate much as much in mounts as in any land the bracken (fentos), getting to be one authenticate plague in the property. In pedregosas zones but heather (carrascos) with its intense violet color is born of its flowers, and very little lately it is a native plant, denominated in Gallego carqueixa. The broom ( xesta in Gallego), is another species that usually proliferates with facility, coverall in property, and less in open mount. In spring it blooms, and their flowers are of an intense yellow.

The environmental news
| With
respect to the garbage dump that we have in the mount of Borralleiro and
which, luckyly, the city council no longer throws remainders, certain
people take advantage of to continue throwing movable and
household-electric, which is a lack of consideration and respect to the
medio.ambiente. Please, you do not
throw sweepings in mounts!
From here, we want to publish a note appeared in the pagina of the Xunta of Galicia, with respect to this garbage dump: Medio
Ambiente investirá máis de 366.500 euros na mellora da xestión de
